Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist to work within a Learning Disability CAMHS team across North Derbyshire. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works to reduce mental health difficulties in young people with moderate and severe learning disabilities. Communication assessments and formulations will help to form overall planning and mental health support for young people referred to the service.
All our teams have excellent track records and you will have the support of colleagues from a variety of disciplines across CAMHS. Clinical supervision is important to our service and you will receive regular support and supervision. We are also able to support the post holder with a variety of CPD opportunities and have close working relationships with other SLTs who work in the Special Schools and across the county., You will be an active member of LD CAMHS providing specialist communication services to children, adolescents and families who have a child with a learning disability in North Derbyshire, as part of the overall mental health assessment. Your role will include:
+ Providing specialist mental health assessments, formulations and interventions for children and young people with complex needs.
+ Contribute to case discussions and a team approach to formulation.
+ Be a client centred and goal focused member of an MDT
