Full Job Description

The Intensive Support Team is a dedicated and innovative multi-disciplinary team supporting Adults with Learning disabilities to reduce avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate successful discharge back to the community. We are looking for a motivated Highly Specialist SLT to join our skilled MDT comprising a range of professional and assistants. The post holder will be responsible for leading, shaping and developing SLT within the intensive support team by promoting a culture of evidence-based practice and person-centred care.

The role will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team colleagues and provide delivery of SLT assessment, treatment and intervention through direct, indirect and consultative models, with the option for providing a dysphagia service if the post-holder wishes. The post holder will have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and have significant postgraduate experience working with people with learning disability, mental illness, and/or neurodiversity as well as an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the communication and swallowing needs of this patient population.
