This is a full time, permanent band 7 post in the outpatient service at Northwick Park Hospital. You will work within a small team managing outpatient referrals for patients who are accessing a Consultant within the Trust. Additionally you will be involved in the running of the outpatient VFS and FEES clinics which sees referrals from the Trust's outpatient teams as well as several local community teams. There will be the opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge and skills, develop your leadership and management skills and lead on service development.

The outpatient team sits in a department of approximately 30 SLTs, and you will have the opportunity to learn from other teams including ENT, spinal, voice, head and neck and acute., The post holder is expected to take a lead role in managing the outpatient caseloads providing evidence-based SLT assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders with a range of aetiologies. Additionally there will be close liaison with local community providers as one of the lead clinicians for the outpatient instrumental service.
You will be supported to lead on the outpatient FEES service and participate in videofluoroscopy clinics. The service is committed to offering robust access to LSVT therefore the post-holder will have access to LSVT training if required. You will be expected to support team members through clinical supervision and in turn, we will ensure you have protected CPD, regular supervision and be part of a friendly and nurturing team., We promote the wellbeing and safety of all our patients and carers by acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately, according to the standards determined by our policy and procedures. All posts working with vulnerable groups will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check upon appointment and staff will need to give their consent for the Trust to receive regular updates on their criminal records status throughout their employment.
