Full Job Description

The Royal Wolverhampton Trust Children's SLT Team is involved in an exciting project working in partnership with City of Wolverhampton Council, Childrens and Adults social care department as well as the Educational Psychology Department.
You will be part of an award-winning specialist multidisciplinary team, Power2, primarily working with young people aged 11 to 25 to support them to exert more positive control over their lives, and to live safely as they progress into adulthood.
Power2 supports young people and families who have unfortunately experienced trauma and could be at risk of exploitation. We work with young people who are at risk of being excluded from school or might display behaviours which affect home/school life and cause disruption. Working through a trauma informed lens, we work with young people using the ARC model aiming to develop areas such as attachment, regulation and competence. We are looking for a dynamic, Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, keen to further their skills working with adolescents, with a focus on those who have communication difficulties. The successful candidate will be able to influence the project, working as an embedded member of the MDT with colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds.
You will be working under the guidance of the Power2 Manager with clinical and professional support from the SLT Team., This is a senior post with clinical responsibility to lead on service development with the Power2 Team in conjunction with the Head of Service for Children. This will include planning, coordinating delivering and evaluating the Speech & Language Therapy provided to children, young people and their families within Wolverhampton on a day-to-day basis.
To provide specialist SLT assessment diagnosis and treatment of Children and Young People (CYP)
To ensure the delivery of highly specialist care to all CYP in Wolverhampton according to clinical priorities and as required by the Head of Service and operational managers in Power2.
To provide leadership to the MDT around SLCN in a designated clinical area. The post holder will ensure that the service provided is CYP - centered, effective and of a high quality.
To maintain close working relationships with other health, local authority and education professionals and referrers to ensure efficient, effective and appropriate delivery of the service.
The post holder will not act as a key worker for individuals.
To supervise and educate student SLTs to a graduate standard, working with the Universities to ensure standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
