About the Role: Are you an experienced commercial leader with a passion for infrastructure and highway projects? We are looking for a Highway Commercial Manager to join our Highway Operations Service. This role is crucial in providing commercial leadership and managing supply chain strategies to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery of highway projects., + Lead the commercial team within the Highway Operations Service, supporting the delivery of construction, maintenance, and related tasks on the highway network.
+ Develop and implement commercial and supply chain strategies that ensure financial sustainability and value for money.
+ Manage contracts and frameworks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and resolving disputes.
+ Provide expert advice on estimating, risk management, and early contractor involvement to de-risk projects.
+ Monitor cost performance and implement efficiencies to improve service delivery.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, directors, and supply chain leaders.
+ Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability within the team.

+ Significant managerial experience in a related field, with a proven track record of leading large commercial teams in a construction or highway maintenance environment.
+ Extensive experience in designing and implementing commercial strategies to achieve strategic goals.
+ Strong understanding of the NEC Suite of contracts and local government financial procedures.
+ Ability to manage business plans, financial analysis, and risk management at both business and project levels.
+ Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
+ Relevant professional qualification in a related field.
+ Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
+ NEC Accreditation.
+ Experience in a political environment and working with trade unions.
