Full Job Description
An experienced and skilled Highways Engineer is sought to deliver a wide range of highway and traffic initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Manage the work involved in processing and supervising vehicle crossover applications and works
- Lead the process relating to the implementation of traffic regulation orders (TRO's), parking and disabled persons parking places orders
- Manage the maintenance of rural public rights of way and permissive footpaths
- Process the technical approvals of designs relating to road adoptions under section 38 agreements on new developments and undertake the supervision of the associated site work
- Undertake project work as required for any area of the Council or outside bodies
- Preparing reports and providing technical advice to other departments
- Attend meetings, dealing with the public, handling enquiries and complaints
Have a relevant engineering or technical qualification - Have a wide range of experience in dealing with highways and traffic matters in a customer driven environment
- Being organised, showcasing time management and communication skills
- Able to handle multiple projects
