Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy Hip Preservation Unit in the North-East of England. The centre sees around 300-400 new hip referrals a year with more than 200 hip preservation procedures performed. The data is entered into the local Northumbria Hip Preservation Registry and the UK Non-Arthroplasty Hip Registry., It is estimated that during a year you will be exposed to 70-80 Periacetabular Osteotomies, 150 Hip arthroscopies and 200 primary joint replacement, concentrating on individuals within the younger adult age groups.

You will work within a department of 30 consultants who are all keen to improve practice, successfully adopting enhanced recovery for patients undergoing elective joint replacement.

You should be GMC registered and hold the MBBS or equivalent medical qualification and FRCS (T&O) qualifications with one of the Surgical Colleges of Great Britain and Ireland. You should be able to demonstrate an interest in Hip Preservation surgery. This post may be eligible to be included as a BOA Clinical Leadership Fellowship.
