Are you a qualified and experienced clinician, looking for the next step in your career?
Can you create and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, practitioners and volunteers at a variety of grades nationally?, The HMCG Clinical Tactical Lead will be responsible for ensuring the clinical currency and delivering of the following areas:
Coastguard Emergency Responder Casualty Care (CERCC) Clinical Course Content for both instructors and practitioners also including CERCC Manual, Check Cards, Scenario Cards, and Revalidation Content liaising with the Training Centre and delivering training as required.
Post incident review through the Patient Report Form, Post Incident Report and Fatalities process.
The CERCC Quality Assurance and Engagement Programme.
Development and maintenance of casualty care procedures and policies. Support selection and suitability assessments of equipment as well as representing HMCG as a Clinical Lead in internal and external forums.
Creation and maintenance of clinical operational procedures and guidance and the clinical aspect of the design, delivery, and evaluation of Casualty Care training to support operational response in the Coastguard Rescue Services.
Liaison with internal and external customers and stakeholders, Clinical Governance Team, and Medical Director in maintaining clinical operational standards.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Responsible for the clinical input in the clinical operational training needs analysis, design, delivery, and evaluation of HMCG technical training solutions, working with colleagues and/or external providers as necessary. Ensuring alignment with latest trends, best practice, and strategic priorities.
+ Responsible for the clinical input to the quality assurance visits and review of cascade training delivery and operational delivery. Provide fair and constructive feedback, responding to queries and developing improvement plans in association with coastal colleagues. Actively responsible for building a sense of community and network for CERCC.
+ Lead on the Clinical aspect of the training and support material and assessment methods liaising with Training Centre. Ensuring alignment with latest trends, best practice and strategic priorities.
+ Engage with senior stakeholders working on the continuous development of equipment, techniques and work procedures that will underpin HMCG operational policy development.
For further information about the role and responsibilities, please see the attached role profile., The role will be 34 hours per week with the remaining 12 hours per month allocated to undertake one operational shift per month to maintain currency and credibility with a pre-hospital provider. This would be with either an NHS Trust or another CQC Registered Organisation at the approval of the HMCG Medical Director where there would be exposure to acute clinical care. It will be for the successful applicant to agree a suitable arrangement with the relevant organisation.
MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.
The expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace or out on official business. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.
The role requires travel across the UK to provide quality assurance visits, represent HMCG and to attend meetings/working groups. Notice will be given prior to travel.
