Full Job Description

1. To be part of a highly motivated team, providing a high standard of clinical care to all its users with a priority for specialising in the area tissue viability of the foot. 2. To demonstrate a high level of post graduate experience with a responsibility for case loads in areas of patients with high risk of foot ulceration e.g.

diabetes, rheumatology, immunosuppressed, elderly, etc. 3. To act as a liaison between referring agents with regard to clinical findings, proposed treatments, outcomes and further investigations along with appropriate communication of such findings to primary care workers, multi disciplinary teams and other health care professionals. This will include referral triaging and prioritising.

4. To direct and facilitate ward foot care training. This may include: - a) Lecture based b) E-learning c) Working with the Training and Development team and nurse educators d) Delivering and evaluating training packages 5. Liaise and work with specialist nurses, consultants and Tissue Viability nurses wherever appropriate at ward level.

6. Be part of the Diabetic Limb Salvage Service (MDT) clinic and help provide wound management. 7. Take part in activities involving the Hot Foot Phone, a dedicated mobile phone line for emergency diabetic foot related calls.

8. To conduct assessments and undertake the appropriate treatment of lower limb pathology in out-patient clinics and in-patients including preoperative clinical clerking and post operative care. 9. To provide routine foot care to in and out-patients where appropriate.

10. To identify development and adhere to Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (LTHT) policies, protocols, strategies, objectives and link into business plans as part of the Podiatry Department (PD) and (LTH). Adherence to Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, Health and Care Professional (HCPC), Department of Health (DOH), National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines. 11.
