  • In this Hospital Porter position, youll be supporting the Healthcare Teams in providing a safe and efficient patients transfer and good transfer service within the hospital. This position will be a busy one, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, where youll be providing that individual patient cantered care coupled with that efficient and effective service. This is full time permanent position (37.5hrs a week) Working to rotating Monday to Saturday shift patterns; 7am to 3pm 9am to 5pm 11am to 7pm, As a Hospital Porter, youll be required to assist all departments, all the while providing an excellent patient experience. You will be responding to varied requests from managing the movement of patients from Ward to Ward and transporting goods and deliveries, all within an appropriate timeframe. This Hospital Porter position, will involve the exertion of moderate to high level physical energy, such as the lifting, pushing and pulling of substantial weight, but mostly with the assistance of mechanical aids.

    It would be an advantage if the appointed Hospital Porter would have worked in acute healthcare in the past, but most important is your flexibility, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload. You will be a good communicator at all levels, with the ability to work in a fast pace environment and will be able to easily work alone, as well as part of a team. You will be able to work well under pressure and prioritise effectively. Everything we do is focused on providing a high standard of safe and effective patient care.
