Full Job Description

  • Liaise with sales and events team on upcoming conferences and events
  • Managing stock control, administration and deliveries
  • Liaising with caterers and ordering items as and when required
  • Be the Hospitality lead when clients are in, this will include delegation of hospitality staff and contractors on the day
  • To lead and delegate jobs to the Hospitality Assistant and manage the rota for hospitality permanent and temp staff.
  • Meet and greet delegates and ensure they are looked after throughout the day
  • Meet and greet suppliers and contractors when required
  • Provide customers with site safety information, Wi-Fi logins etc
  • Serve drinks and refreshments to delegates in a timely and professional manner
  • Keep refreshment areas clean, tidy and replenished throughout the day

  • Lay out and clear away any pre-booked catering as required
  • Be on call for the delegates throughout the day
  • Set up rooms/halls in advance of booking to the requested configuration including cleaning where required, assisted by facilities team as needed.
  • For each booking ensure meeting rooms are prepared and well-presented which will include general cleaning
  • Assist with moving furniture to help prepare rooms for events and conferences, assisted by facilities team as needed.
  • Basic clean down after event/conference, including ensuring tables, chairs are stored away correctly, with the help of the facilities team.
  • Cleaning duties also include washing up and putting away crockery, hoovering, litter picking and general cleaning duties
  • Unlock and lock up site buildings before and after events.
  • When not engaged with customer service for events, conferences etc. work with the events team on other duties as requested.
  • To organise and manage staff, stock required for the Hospitality of the annual Kent County Show
  • To assist in the hospitality, admin and organisation of society events when required by Events Team Leader and General Manager
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Events Team Leader & General Manager.

    Essential Experience
  • Experience in a hospitality role
  • Experience in leading a team
  • A full driving licence, willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Flexibility with shifts and working hours is essential
  • Ability to contribute towards a team environment but the confidence to work on your own
  • You must be adaptable to work in a very busy event and conference environment
