Full Job Description

Goodwood Event Catering (GEC) is a profit share partnership between the Goodwood Estate and Levy. The success of GEC comes from the in-depth understanding of the Goodwood dynamic and the simple love of celebrated food and drink experiences and putting our partners and guests first. The GEC is responsible for the delivery of all motorsport events (Members Meeting, Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival), horse racing meetings (11 day race meets, 4 night race meets and 5 days of racing at the Qatar Goodwood Festival)., We are looking for someone to join the team and oversee Hospitality operations. You will work closely with both the Partnership Manager and Operations team and report directly to the Deputy General Manager. You will be involved with the permanent areas at Goodwood Racecourse, and the temporary areas built for Festival of Speed, Qatar Goodwood Festival and Revival. Overall, you will be required to deliver operational efficiency, planning and presentation of the food and beverage and overall guest experience in all hospitality areas. Your success will be underpinned by a structured approach with focus on planning, innovation and communication., Attention to Detail - To plan the delivery standard of all hospitality areas across site and provide the documentation for our Event Manager's to deliver this on event days including SOP's and Manager Briefing packs. Ensure all bespoke requirements for annual box holders at the racecourse are received and managed. Ensure all bespoke restaurant and box requirements are managed and delivered during the events. Logistics - With wider internal team work on a logistics plan for hospitality including table and floor plans and equipment requirements. Communication - Provide direct liaison with the client, guest and the operational team on the day. Deal with all customer comments in a positive manner and take appropriate follow up action, turning any negative customer experiences into positive ones through a planned protocol to handle these situations. Ownership of the day-to-day delivery - Regular monitoring and development of each area to ensure that product quality, presentation, staffing reviews and consistent standards are maintained according to our IPOE culture. Ensure best standards are delivered through regular area walks. People - Work with the People Ops Manager and Operations team to agree and sign off appropriate structures to flex resourcing between fixed and variable workers across your department. Financially accountable - Actively work with the Finance Manager for all costs and profitability of the hospitality areas. Cost Management - Be in control of all operating costs in line with set targets and budgets. Ensure strict adherence to company Profit Protection processes and procedures. Commerciality - To spot business opportunities and make constant improvements in hospitality operations where possible. Encourage and motivate Managers to upsell upgraded wines.

  • More about the role: Collaborate- Build strong relationships with Goodwood Hospitality team plus internal operations to ensure the successful planning of all hospitality areas including hospitality package and restaurant details, guest information and expectations. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and produce menus and service styles across all areas. Attend all required meetings and always represent Levy in a professional manner.
