Full Job Description

Hourly Paid Lecturers are responsible for planning courses, delivering inspiring lessons, keeping records of their learners' progress and participating in development activities to enhance their own teaching, learning and assessment skills. The College offers a comprehensive staff development programme to support tutors in developing their practice.

  • Digital Skills - as part of ourcourse offer we deliver a wide range of digital skills courses from very basic beginners' levels to level 1 and 2 qualifications. Courses cover topics such as Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). The Digital Skills for Life course aims to empower those with little or no digital skills to be able to communicate with others by using a phone, tablet or computer whilst also covering online safety. These courses take place at our campuses as well as in community venues. We are looking to appoint tutors who are confident in their own digital abilities, but who are not necessarily IT specialists., You do not have to be a qualified teacher but must be knowledgeable and passionate about your subject area. Opportunities also exist to gain a recognised teaching qualification., Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.

    Oxfordshire Adult Learning (OAL) is a large, award winning faculty of Abingdon and Witney College. We aim to maximise access to learning for adults in Oxfordshire, widening participation and transforming the health, social and economic wellbeing of individuals, families and their communities.
  • Our provision is diverse and includes an extensive range of leisure learning courses, community learning courses, family learning courses and accredited courses which lead to recognised qualifications. Our courses are delivered at our campuses in Abingdon and in Witney, as well as in community venues across Oxfordshire. We are currently looking for tutors to teach the below subjects:

  • Beginners course at our Abingdon campus, starting on the 7 th November 2024 at 7pm Intermediate course at our Abingdon campus, starting on the 6th February 2025 at 7pm Beginners course at Cherwell School, starting on the 13 th January 2025 at 7pm
