Full Job Description

+ On-going support and assistance to the nursing staff by performing assigned tasks involving indirect and direct patient care; this will include overseeing the catering the domestic service within the ward. The post holder will ensure the environment is warm, comfortable, clean and welcoming. + The post holder will be working closely with the staff nurses / ward manager to ensure the ward is organised and a high standard of cleanliness and completing required cleaning audits., + To monitor the cleaning duties in accordance with the ward schedules and procedures of the area and take action to rectify any faults this will include the post holder undertaking emergency cleaning. + To ensure that there is sufficient clean linen available to meet the needs of the unit. This will include keeping the linen room tidy, and ensuring that dirty linen is available for collection. Ensuring that there is enough stock available for ward use. The post holder is responsible for meeting the needs of the ward/department by ensuring sufficient clean linen on a daily basis and to identify any shortages to the nurse in charge.Working for our organisation North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level.   • To participate in providing a catering service to meet the patient's meal and beverage requirements.
  • To monitor the cleaning duties in accordance with the ward schedules and procedures of the area and take action to rectify any faults this will include the post holder undertaking emergency cleaning.
  • To assist patients and visitor as requested attending the ward as requested by the
  • Midwife in charge eg provide tea's /coffee/biscuit. Keep notice board updated and tidy.
  • The post holder is also responsible with the ward manager and ward staff in ensuring the area surrounding the bed is checked, to ensure all the necessary items are available in the lockers prior the next patient being admitted to that bed space.
  • To participate in providing a complete and safe catering service to the patients. To ensure that patient's meal and beverage requirements as per the clinician's instructions are met. This will include temperature testing of meals and fridges.
  • To monitor the cleaning duties in accordance with the schedules and procedures of the area and take action to rectify any faults and this may mean undertaking emergency cleaning.
  • To ensure that there is sufficient clean linen available to meet the needs of the unit.
  • This will include keeping the linen room tidy and ensuring that dirty linen is available for collection. Ensuring that there is enough stock available for ward use.
  • To ensure that all empty beds are clean and ready for the next patient, this may entail the post holder making beds following training.
  • The area surrounding the bed must also be checked, to ensure all the necessary items are available in the lockers for the next patient.
