Full Job Description

To ensure all hotel bedrooms, corridors and public areas are cleaned, prepared and maintained to the highest standards.

To follow the ethos of The Venues Collection Way in all duties for guests and colleagues. This includes practicing all the Venues Collection Values and generally working towards our Mission of delivering "Sensational service in sensational environments by Vibrant, Innovative People.,

  • To service rooms allocated by the housekeeper to the standards specified in the Housekeeping Standards.

  • To carry out routine and periodic cleaning in allocated areas, as directed by Supervisors

  • To strictly adhere to all COSHH regulations pertaining to use of cleaning chemicals

  • To report all maintenance faults in the room to the Housekeeper management

  • To ensure corridors are kept clean, and dirty linen, trays and equipment is discarded safely

  • To report any missing items, e.g., bathrobes, extra blankets to the Floor Housekeeper.

  • To pass on any guest requests to the Housekeeper management

  • To report guest illness to the Housekeeper management

  • To report to the Supervisor, should you believe that a guest has been smoking in the bedrooms.

  • To hand in any lost property items to the Housekeeper management ensuring items of value are not left unattended but kept in a safe place

  • To report any suspicious persons to the Housekeeper management and ensure all guests rooms are kept locked at all times.

  • To deliver any items to guest bedrooms as required e.g laundry & dry cleaning

  • To assist the public area cleaners if required

  • To maintain the correct uniform standard as laid out in both the department uniform standard procedure and the Hotel's grooming policy.

  • To be familiar with and adhere to all hotel policies and procedures.

  • To attend Hotel and department staff meetings to understand the Hotel and department objectives.

  • To actively work as part of the team to contribute in the accomplishment of the hotel and department objectives.

  • To be fully aware of the Hotels housekeeping services and facilities.

  • To be familiar with the Hotels business on a daily and weekly basis by attending daily Briefings

  • To effectively organise allocated work tasks to gain maximum productivity within the work shift.

  • To always act in a professional and polite manner to all guests and customers.

  • To portray a professional image using positive body language.

  • To check customer satisfaction and offer further requirements.

  • Attend daily bite size training sessions to enhance your Personal Development and for the better performance of your role

  • To attend all fire, hygiene, health & safety training as required and ensure all the information is understood and put into practice in the workplace


  • Health & Safety
  • To ensure that the Company Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and implemented within the department.

  • To be fully aware of the Hotel and department fire evacuation procedures.

  • To ensure when entering a guest bedroom, the correct Hotel and Company procedure is followed.

  • To report any accidents of guests and staff- AIR3

  • To ensure all stores and services are locked when leaving them unattended and at the end of every shift.

  • To ensure that bedroom doors are always locked shut.

  • To report any potential hazards.

  • To keep all personal details of customers and guests, discreet and confidential. i.e. name & room number.

  • To sign in and out all hotel keys and be responsible and accountable for them.

  • To be aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirements are met, including: health and safety at work, COSHH, environmental health, fire precautions, manual handling and any other relevant policies.
