Full Job Description
The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting staff working within the acute paediatric unit. Daily responsibility includes stock maintenance, cleaning, and management of equipment. - Ensure a safe and tidy environment, including clinical areas.
- Undertake a range of duties, as instructed by a nurse and ensure delegated task is completed effectively.
- Be aware of stock levels & stock rotation, ensuring that all areas are looked at, & stocked up adequately, on a daily basis.
- Assist in the collection of medication from pharmacy.
- Assist in the collection of pathological specimens & transportation to the appropriate laboratory..
- Assist with moving patients and equipment within the unit and between the unit and other departments, in accordance with safe moving and handling techniques.
- Assist staff with procedures by cleaning and handling equipment when necessary
- Help maintain materials, equipment and stock, reporting problems and defects in a timely and appropriate manner
- Respond and provide assistance, as directed by registered practitioners, in the event of health emergency.
- Help patients and their families in maintaining emotional wellbeing by supporting with mealtime provision and drinks rounds
- Undertake duties appropriate to Infection Control cleaning rota's throughout the Unit.
