Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Outpatients departments in the Directorate of Trauma, Orthopaedics, Burns and Plastics as a Housekeeper. The post holder will work 22.5 hrs per week but this can be split over 3 or 4 days and can be flexible to work around school hours. The role will cover Fracture Clinic and Plastics Outpatients in Wythenshawe Hospital. We treat a range of outpatients who are attending for review or treatment. Clinics are open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team you will be required to provide skilled, flexible support to the Nursing staff across all duties in accordance with Trust policies and Guidelines. You will be required to give comprehensive and clinical support to staff in delivering high standards of patient care. As a Housekeeper you support the senior nursing team by ensuring the ward is clean, safe, comfortable and conducive to patient care. This is beneficial for both patients and their relatives/carers. We see patients across the whole lifespan from 2 years old upwards. This is a busy, physically active role which requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.   • You will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation working across two departments; undertaking and monitoring infection control procedures, equipment cleaning, assisting with ordering of stock and arranging this.
  • Liaise with other departments as appropriate in order to support flow through the department.
  • Support accreditation and audit
  • Ensure all defects are logged via the appropriate Help Desk. Report, record, and signed off once completed.
  • Ensure any all essential and non-medical equipment is in a clean condition and available for use.
