Full Job Description

To support nursing staff in the delivery and co-ordination of a busy surgical environment and its requirements. The post holder will work part of the ward team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment for the patients and relatives., Answering telephone queries in a polite and efficient manner.
Ensuring the Lorenzo system is up to date and that the ward diary correlates with system.
Organising patient's notes.
Filing results and organising patient's notes.
Transferring patient notes to relevant departments.
Chase up patient diagnostics with relevant department.
Booking of ambulances, when directed to do so.
Obtain relevant admission/discharge information for the nursing staff.
Provide clerical support for the unit manager and the team.
Obtaining blood results from the computer system.
Delivering messages to appropriate staff and department.
Maintaining all relevant information boards that the ward may have.
When directed, arrange transport, equipment or any other relevant support under the direction of the nursing team.
To show own duties to new administration staff within the department.
Communication
Communication with others must be polite, professional and courteous with patients and their relatives/carers, with nursing staff and medical staff and the wider MDT team members.
Communicate with other personnel within the multi-disciplinary teams and professional staff from other outside organisations.
Maintaining Ward Stocks
Ordering stationery and non-stock items when required.
Monitoring computer and printing equipment and reporting any issues to supervisor.
Ordering additional stock as and when requested.
Miscellaneous
Obtaining items from Pharmacy/Stores.
Occasionally escorting patients to other departments.
Ensuring the ward office is kept generally tidy., Sometimes we get a lot of applications for our roles. On those occasions we might close the job early. If you don't want to miss out we recommend submitting your application as early as possible.

Hatton Ward provides care for emergency surgical patients. It consists of 6 bays of 3 beds and 2 side rooms.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, caring and proactive Housekeeper to work within our team, focusing on providing the highest standard of care for our patients and their families.
Excellent organisational skills and good computer ability are essential in this role. You will work as part of a team providing care Monday - Friday.

Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.
