Do you have detailed building knowledge and want to apply that experience to help residents of the New Forest remain safe and independent within their homes?

The Private Sector Housing Team works hard to improve living conditions for people across the private sector and delivers a wide range of services including facilitating Disabled Facilities Grants, assistance in dealing with significant disrepair to privately owned homes, the regulation of privately rented accommodation, mandatory House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licensing, bringing empty properties back into use and investigation of allegations of harassment and illegal evictions.

The role entails completing technical surveys, planning, scheduling and overseeing works to ensure adaptations, including through floor lifts, stair lifts, extensions, ramps and door openings are completed to meet the needs of our customer, who maybe older, disabled or particularly vulnerable people.

It is important for us to recruit someone with the right skills to develop in the role. Therefore, we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills listed below, as well as from newly qualified Environmental Health Officers and Surveyors who wish to build a career here at New Forest District Council.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our forward-thinking team to help us deliver DFGs throughout the District.
