You will provide early intervention and housing advice to members of the public who are in housing need or who are homeless/threatened with homelessness, ensuring customers access the right support having regard to the statutory provisions of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended), the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and associated legislation., Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer. Do you have a caring approach and a desire to achieve a high quality of life for customers?, We are looking for two Housing Advice Officers with excellent administrative skills and good verbal and written communication skills until 30 November 2026., You will have a NVQ Level 2 or equivalent together with experience of delivering telephone and face to face advice and assistance services. You should have knowledge of Housing and Homelessness legislation and the ability to liaise with other agencies in order to achieve the best results for all concerned.
