Full Job Description

This is a great job opportunity for a Housing Manager to join Home Groups awesome housing team in Teesside, Durham & Sunderland. As our Housing Manager, you'll be the face-to-face customer support to our customers within our Allocations team. You may already have extensive experience as a generic Housing Manager or experience of face-to-face customer service within another sector. You'll join our team with a real focus on delivering for our customers within our communities. You will be supported by the wider housing management teams, Neighbourhood Assistants, Financial Inclusion Partners and Community Housing Assistants. Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you'll really get to get to know our communities. This will help us to improve our local neighbourhoods. Typical day as a Housing Manager (Lettings Team)

  • You'll understand the community that you work in for our general needs' customers covering our homes in Teesside, Durham & Sunderland.
  • You will be responsible for the allocation process from initial advertisement, offer checks, viewing to final sign-up.
  • You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our allocations policies and procedures, as well as been compliant with our Section 106 and Local Lettings Plans where applicable.
  • You'll work in partnership across 7 local authorities across the wider region developing relationships.
  • You will also be involved across our other housing management functions.

  • Hybrid working which involves working from home, in the community or your nearest local office.
  • Predominantly responsibility for our rented homes across Teesside, Durham and Sunderland.
  • You'll manage your own diary and be accountable for achieving KPI's.
  • You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don't worry, we'll pay your business mileage to cover this use!
  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
  • Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.

  • You will have a background in lettings or allocations, either within the housing sector or an alternative sector.
  • You'll have an understanding of housing management, housing law and customer service.
  • You are fully competent in IT and can learn new systems quickly.
  • You're super organised and methodical in your approach and are a proactive self-starter with a "can do" positive attitude.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
  • This job can challenge, especially when we're dealing with complaints, but your resilience will help you through.

    Permanent, Part time (22.5 hpw) Salary circa £32,000 (pro-rata) negotiable based on skills and experience, plus great benefits including Health cash plan,
