Full Job Description

As a Housing Officer you will work alongside the wider Temporary Accommodation service to support residents who are homeless and owed an accommodation duty by the Council. This will involve visiting residents on a regular basis, supporting them to comply with their tenancies, providing advice on a wide range of issues from arrears, to repairs and potential ongoing offers of accommodation.

You will work in partnership with the Placement Officers and wider Housing Options service to ensure offers of accommodation are suitable for households and providing advice to residents about their next steps.

You will liaise with a multiple internal and external agencies including repairs teams, support agencies, community safety and legal services.

Working as part of a large team, you will be involved in providing a duty service dealing with on the day queries and support, alongside covering a patch of properties, allowing you to build an ongoing positive relationship with tenants. The work in the service is fast paced and you will work with residents facing a wide range of situations, some with complex vulnerabilities and from diverse backgrounds.
