Are you looking for a role that will help towards ending homelessness in West Norfolk, person by person?

If you have excellent communication skills and a creative and practical approach to problem solving, then we have the perfect opportunities for you.

You will respond to enquiries from people in often complex and difficult situations providing them with high quality housing advice that will help them to access the services they need to prevent homelessness. You will investigate and assess people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness in line with relevant legislation. You will examine and report on factors which lead to housing needs and assist with innovative solutions to the housing problems facing people today, working under the council’s new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy.

You must have experience in a housing or related setting with a good working knowledge of welfare benefits and eligibility criteria for social care. You will have experience of working with the public, in particular vulnerable people, and have a clear understanding of equality issues.

One of the roles will specialise in supporting refugee households, particularly from Ukraine and Afghanistan. Therefore, we would particularly welcome applicants with relevant language skills and strong cultural awareness skills.

If one of these opportunities looks perfect for you, we would welcome your application. In return, we can offer performance-related pay, a generous annual leave entitlement which includes an office closure between Christmas and New Year and membership of the local government pension scheme.

Subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure, through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
