Full Job Description
Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. The Councils are committed to being a customer driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving delivery services that make a difference to the community that we serve. The Housing Revenue Officer will primarily focus on the prevention and reduction of debt. Helping tenants to sustain their tenancies through monitoring of accounts, maximising income and working with internal and external partners. Court attendance and legal knowledge of debt recovery within Housing Services is crucial for this role. You will work on all housing revenue streams including rental, garage, former tenant debt and recharges. You will need to be committed to meet performance targets as set by the leadership team and be prepared to visit our tenants out in the community to provide advise and support on rent/debt queries. We are looking for a person who has excellent attention to detail as figures and report writing will be necessary for you to do this role. You will put the customer at the forefront of everything you do, ensuring the prevention of homelessness.
You will need up to date knowledge of the welfare benefits system and at least three years experience of Housing Revenues or Income Collection of a similar nature.
