Full Job Description

We are seeking a housing solicitor to join our housing team. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of housing matters including defending possession proceedings and judicial reviews. In addition you will have the opportunity to work alongside our housing campaigns worker in a combination of campaigns and strategic legal work. We hold legal aid contracts in Crime, Education, Housing, Immigration/Asylum, Public Law and Welfare Benefits. However in response to the demands from the community we are looking at developing a new area of work at the Law Centre assisting residents challenge major developments and regeneration in the borough.

  • will have significant, sustained experience in delivering a casework service in Housing law and will have knowledge or experience of working under a Housing Legal Aid contract.
  • will be 3ys + PQE or equivalent.
  • will have experience of representation at court.
  • will have worked under a HPCDS/HLPAS contract., We're looking for a housing solicitor/caseworker to help work on our Legal Aid Agency contract covering legal help, certificated cases and representation at court as part of the duty solicitor scheme. You'll need to have at least one year's experience of advising and assisting in housing law (not all of this experience needs to be post qualification), together with a talent for explaining complex legal ideas in simple language and the ability to manage a demanding workload.

    Salary: Up to £35,300 p.a. + generous terms and conditions., £50,000 FTE
