Join the prestigious University of Cambridge, School of Clinical Medicine as a HR Adviser. This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Professional to make a significant impact in a progressive, and highly driven environment. This is an up to 12 month FTC to cover for a Maternity Leave absence. The School of Clinical Medicine HR Team are a specialist team providing a full range of HR, recruitment and clinical services to its colleagues, new hires, and visitors selected departments and institutes. Our teams are based in the Clinical School of Medicine Office (SCM) which is part of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We have circa 3,000 colleagues, including 410 clinical and 190 colleagues on CRUK/MRC legacy terms and conditions, and over 1000 visitors. The HR team plays a crucial role in supporting our dynamic and diverse workforce at the School. You will work as the HR Adviser, reporting to a HR Business Partner, providing operational support to ensure your client areas have excellent, responsive business partnering, resourcing and HR administrative functions. The HR Adviser is responsible for supporting the SCM HR Business Partnering Team in developing the departmental and HR workforce plans, to ensure they align with the changing operational needs and aims of the School, HR and NHS. You will be a key member of the HR Business Partner Team and collaborate closely with colleagues within the wider HR Division. Your contributions may extend beyond the SCM, as you actively participate in university-wide HR policy development and operational initiatives. Additionally, you will be involved in the development and implementation of SCM-specific clinical policies and practices.
- Experience of providing advisory support to stakeholders.
- Ability to coach and support colleagues on routine issues using strong communication and influencing skills.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and policy development.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in HR policies and practices, this is essential.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
- Relevant HR qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
