Full Job Description

Our HR function plays a key role in the smooth running of our Council, and we have an exciting opportunity for a part time HR Advisor to join our team. This is a hybrid working role, across our sites based primarily in Kidderminster.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and this role is key in supporting the delivery of the People and Organisation Development Strategy. As an HR Advisor at Wyre Forest District Council you'll enjoy the opportunity to get involved in the day-to-day challenges of HR, whilst working on lots of exciting forward-thinking projects.

The Ideal Candidate will certainly be a team player and have a track record of working successfully as an HR Advisor. An up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an understanding how this can impact the business is essential. This is a generalist HR role where you will act as the first point of contact and you will need to demonstrate your ability to build strong working relationships, dealing with HR queries from staff and managers, providing accurate and timely advice.

A typical day working as a HR Advisor may include:

  • Providing first line HR advisory services regarding employee relations.


  • Supporting managers across the Council in people management


  • Supporting managers with absence management.


  • Handling maternity and paternity request.


  • Assisting with the updating of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.

    CIPD Level 5 or equivalent is essential
