Full Job Description

Are you a HR professional looking for a dynamic role where you can make a real impact? We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our team at Humdinger snacking factory in Bromborough, providing comprehensive HR support across the site, alongside an experienced HR Lead.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all employees on site, addressing their employment queries with competence, respect, and confidentiality.
  • Advise and support managers with grievances, disciplinary actions, absence management, and performance management cases.
  • Write, review, and send out relevant notes and letters in a timely manner.
  • Support managers in conducting comprehensive return-to-work interviews with all staff.
  • Coach managers on HR procedures and address any non-compliance.
  • Ensure that self-certification forms and doctor's notes are provided by employees absent due to sickness.
  • Actively monitor and manage all absence cases with the relevant manager, making referrals to occupational health and initiating formal proceedings as necessary.
  • Support site reorganizations or department restructures as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with site managers and attend appropriate meetings.
  • Support employee communications via notice boards, TV screens, or email as needed.
  • Interpret and advise on employment legislation.
  • Process employee data for current staff, starters, leavers, and changes on the system.
  • Keep weekly and monthly KPI scorecards up to date.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of development programs, including performance reviews, and discipline and grievance management.
  • Work with site management and the L&D team to identify development needs and support training to ensure a skilled workforce.
  • Assist in driving the Performance Development Review (PDR) process.
  • Collaborate with management on succession planning.
  • Maintain manual and computerized records for all employees, including starters, leavers, transfers, and attendance.
  • Ensure site engagement and communication activities are delivered, including companywide notices, briefings, employee representative meetings, surveys, and follow-up actions.
  • Support central recruitment with candidates, induction, onboarding, and employee terms and conditions, benefits, and related processes.
  • Provide full support to site management across all HR policies and processes covering the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Support and prepare for audits, with a focus on ethical compliance.
  • Organise and implement employee engagement initiatives on-site, including wellbeing activities, charity events, and equality, diversity, and inclusion events., Please let us know if you require any special arrangements or adjustments to be made for your interview.     Ability to support change, influence others, and build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in a similar HR role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt and work as needed to support business demands.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, and confidence to support senior stakeholders with advice.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a track record of effective solutions.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Competence in using computer-based packages, including Excel, Word, MS Outlook, and HRIS.
  • Experience in coordinating or assisting with Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal central support.
  • Proactive in generating ideas and challenging the status quo to suggest new processes or ways of working.
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualified, or working towards it, or a desire to complete in the future with the support of Humdinger.
