Full Job Description

Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong background in providing generalist advice and solutions on people-related matters? Do you combine your knowledge of employment law and HR best practice with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach? We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to:

  • Provide first-line generalist HR advice and pragmatic interventions to managers
  • Deliver proactive and timely responses to all HR enquiries
  • Take the lead on casework aligned to a specific faculty or division
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape and implement people-focused solutions
  • Develop and enhance HR-related projects to improve organisational effectiveness
  • An appreciation of working in higher education and managing change in a complex organisation would be desirable, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with an excellent track record of providing pragmatic advice and delivering people-focused solutions. The People and Organisational Effectiveness Division As HR Advisor, you will be part of Lancaster University's People and Organisational Effectiveness Division. Our division is dynamic, ambitious, and customer-focused, supporting the University's commitment to creating an inclusive and thriving environment for all.

    For this role, we are looking for someone who has:
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role with the ability to manage casework independently
  • Strong knowledge of current employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain professional relationships
  • The ability to prioritise workloads effectively and work on their own initiative
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to delivering HR objectives
