Full Job Description

Join us as an HR Assistant at The University of Salford and be part of Team Salford, and one of the UK's fastest growing universities.

We've got an exciting new opportunity to join our HR Operations team, supporting colleagues across the university with enquiries and signposting to other HR colleagues where appropriate.

We're a busy, engaged team, aiming to offer timely, accurate responses and solutions for enquiries across a whole range of HR related topics.

You do not need to have a background in HR - we can teach you that! We are looking for administrators who thrive working in fast paced environments, who enjoy the challenge of different and varied work. We are changing how we interact with colleagues across the University, and are looking for applicants who will question things and help us improve what we do.

We are looking for people with great relationship building skills, who enjoy answering queries and questions and recognise the importance of accuracy in the work that they undertake - especially when you are dealing with important and confidential information. To continue to achieve this aim, we're looking for people with a willingness to offer our customers a high level of customer service.

The work is fast paced, often reactive, and can be frustrating, and at times you will need a high level of resilience, but you will be working on a fantastic, rapidly changing campus, with people who are passionate about changing the lives of our students.

The role:

Providing high-level and accurate administrative support function to the HR team
Supporting key aspects of the HR cycle from pre-employment through to leaving the University
Building great relationships - answering queries raised by colleagues, providing a high level of customer service
Ensuring high levels of accuracy in all work including working with HR systems - ensuring accurate data entry, looking for ways to improve practice and advocating for the importance of accurate data to inform our work.
Working as part of a team, ensuring effective cross-team working, consistency of advice and that a high quality of service is being provided across the team.
Contributing to projects as and when required.
Running the additional leave scheme from start to finish, including advertising, processing applications and reviewing data for the bi-yearly application windows
Supporting employee relations activity, for example, by note taking.
Inclusivity and Diversity - you need to be able to work proactively to help us build on our good practice in this area, and look for ways we can continue improving our processes
Supporting the wider HR department with general administration requirements
Please see full job description attached for full person specification.

Competitive salary- and excellent pension scheme.
An impressive 32 days leave, plus bank holidays, additional time off at Christmas and the opportunity to buy even more!
The perks! MySalford, our online employee portal, offers a wide range of lifestyle benefits and discounts
Wellbeing support- dedicated services and facilities to support your mental and physical health, ranging from an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling, to sports and fitness facilities, including discounted gym memberships
We value diversity - in backgrounds and in experiences.

Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract role.
