Are you looking to develop your HR career in a fast paced environment with the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of strategic workforce plans which will positively impact the experience of our workforce? You will work within a team of skilled and forward thinking Senior HR Business Partners, helping our senior managers to design and enact progressive workforce strategies and solutions. You will play a key role in the enhancement of our employment offer and our people practices so that we attract, engage and retain colleagues who are passionate about delivering excellent and compassionate care for our patients., An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide maternity leave cover for the post of Senior HR Business Partner to support the ongoing work in the Trust and the Surgical Division. As well as providing strategic direction and service development support on all workforce matters within divisions, this role will also provide expert specialist guidance and support to managers and the divisional leadership on all aspects of operational human resource management. You could be supporting managers with change programmes, complex employee relations issues, leading on workforce transformation , TUPE, planning how we introduce new roles into our workforce, or developing resourcing and retention plans. Whatever you are doing, you will be working collaboratively and using strong analytical skills., You will work with HR and Organisational Development colleagues in the provision of a professional and comprehensive service to divisions within our organisation. This will include:

  • Providing proactive, professional guidance to senior managers on a range of workforce issues. You will understand their service strategies and objectives and will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to identify workforce issues and develop and implement business focused interventions.
  • Providing regular reports, analysis and recommendations for action against key performance indicators and transformational change objectives. Supporting the management of employee relations casework, ensuring any concerns, issues, themes or learning are shared with senior managers and appropriate actions agreed.

  • Have significant HR experience at a senior level.
  • Have significant experience of managing complex organisational change.
  • Can build relationships and influence stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Can evidence delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Can work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines., Educated to a degree level/ or equivalent relevant work experience
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Desirable criteria
  • Chartered Member of the CIPD, Knowledge of NHS terms and conditions of employment
  • Understanding of wider HR agenda in NHS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work automatously requiring direction on new/complex matters
  • Ability to manage people, understanding needs, identification of development, and implementing supportive approaches.
  • Ability to co-ordinate workloads of team to deliver service requirements.
  • Effective negotiator and influencer
  • Well organised and ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • Ability to apply consulting approach and skilled in partnering with managers to achieve business objectives
  • Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Competent user of MS office packages

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
