Full Job Description

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:

  • Manage Employee Relations cases through in-depth analysis and evaluation.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of Employment legislation and case law in order to advise appropriately on ER cases; ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance and reduce legal risks in the process.
  • Coach Managers to develop their people skills and work with them to support their day-to-day management of their teams; improve the performance of their teams and empower them to understand our policies whilst applying consistent and fair treatment.
  • Deliver HR activity including performance management, talent management, pay and bonus, absence monitoring and employee engagement surveys.
  • Coach and develop our HR Apprentices and HR Officers to realise their full potential and demonstrate role model behaviours creating a positive working culture.
  • Support the HR Business Partner with organisational design and change management activities.
  • Analyse and report on HR MI to provide effective insights and solutions to both the HR Business Partner and the business.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated HR Consultant to join our team.
  • This is a varied remote based role which includes delivery of key HR projects, works with cyclical HR agendas and helps align the business to our strategic goals. The right person to join our team will be commercially astute with experience of managing complex employee relations cases in a pragmatic and problem-solving mindset. You will be business facing, focused on building strong relationships with the managers to drive successful outcomes through a proactive rather than reactive approach. Whilst not essential, experience of developing HR colleagues would be desirable to help us with our 'grow your own' strategy thereby helping your colleagues reach their full potential and progress in their careers. This role needs a positive mindset with a passion to work collaboratively with all of our teams through a period of continuous change due to an acquisition led growth strategy. An exceptional communicator who can build and maintain secure relationships you will need excellent organisational skills and the ability to focus on delivery of deadlines.,
  • An experienced HR consultant, if this is within a regulated environment this would be helpful but don't worry if not, we can help you develop that knowledge.
  • A strong working knowledge of employment law and proven experience of implementing it practically will be a key strength of yours.
  • A problem solver! Always thinking how you can solve a problem whilst considering and balancing the risks of each of your options. That means we can make the right choice for the business and importantly our colleagues.
  • A team player, we work remotely so the way we treat each other when we rarely meet face to face makes a huge difference to the way we work and support each other. It's tough in HR and a good team who has your back makes all the difference.
  • Knowledge of core HR functions such as recruitment, talent management, employee relations, reward and operations.
  • Able to use initiative and make sound, balanced HR decisions whilst implementing in a business focused manner.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate an understanding of the business and how HR can support the delivery of business goals - this is about solving business issues with people solutions.
  • Are you happy to speak up and help put forward your ideas when things could be better? Importantly can you help with what the solutions could be? If so, you will fit right in, so we look forward to your application!

We offer genuine potential for both personal and professional development, come and be part of our story and help us shape our future. So, what are you waiting for? Apply today and one of our team will be in touch.
