Full Job Description
Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
This is your opportunity to join a dynamic team, take on strategic responsibilities, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in HR service delivery.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
You'll be at the heart of our mission to deliver exceptional HR services for one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. Sizewell C is setting the stage for a new nuclear power plant, and we're looking for someone who can bring this vision to life through effective partnership, collaboration, and high-standard service provision.
What You'll Do:
Working in partnership with both external providers and arm's-length internal service partners, you'll oversee the quality and cost-effectiveness of HR services delivered to Sizewell C. You'll lead by influence, guiding providers to meet and exceed service standards while embracing new tools, technology, and efficient ways of working. As the bridge between service providers and the Sizewell C HR team, you'll ensure our service not only meets immediate needs but also evolves to address future requirements seamlessly.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for:
Building and nurturing strong, positive relationships with external and internal service providers to ensure high-standard, responsive HR services.
Crafting task orders, schedules, and SLAs/KPIs with clear expectations around scope, quality, and cost of services.
Developing and implementing a robust governance structure to support the onboarding and transition of service providers, ensuring seamless and high-quality service delivery.
Monitoring and reviewing supplier performance through a structured evaluation process, addressing issues with proactive solutions and continuous improvement plans.
Leading change management efforts when introducing new services or updating contracts and SLAs/KPIs, ensuring a smooth transition for all Sizewell C stakeholders.
Who You Are:
A seasoned HR professional, you bring a blend of relationship management expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead through influence. You are adept at managing service performance and navigating complex challenges within a matrixed environment. Your interpersonal skills and consultative approach mean you can engage stakeholders at all levels, aligning services to business needs and contributing to Sizewell C's overarching goals.
Proven track record in managing high-profile HR contracts and people-focused projects from initiation to successful delivery.
Experience in HR service delivery within complex, matrixed organizations.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach to managing provider relationships.
Strong business acumen, financial awareness, and a proactive mindset for continuous service improvement.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, always ready to innovate and tackle challenges creatively.
Desirable Qualifications:
Recognized commercial or HR qualification.
Experience within a new or expanding organization.
Background in major construction projects is advantageous but not essential.
