Full Job Description

We are are seeking to appoint an experienced and efficient HR Officer to join our friendly HR department to support over 160 employees at the school.
The successful candidate will provide HR administrative support to the School Business Manager on recruitment, payroll, performance management, promoting staff wellbeing and the implementation of HR policies.
The successful candidate will need to be confident, adaptable, resilient and effectively build and maintain employee relations.
The hours are 25 per week, 5 hours a day Monday to Friday. The weeks are term time and 5 INSET days plus 1 week to be worked in the summer break (40 weeks per annum). The pay is set at Kent Range 6 (£25,127 for a full-time position) equating to £15,110 per annum. The start time is negotiable but will range between 8.30am and 10.00am. The finish times will depend on the agreed start time.
We require a good standard of general education and GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade C or above. Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence therefore, please do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.
A formal 30-minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of the Head of School and School Business Manager. Candidates will also undertake a 30 minute in tray exercise.

Garlinge Primary School and Nursery continues to be a 'Good' school with an 'Outstanding' judgement in Personal Development, as recognised in our latest Ofsted inspection (November 2023). The inspection found that, 'pupils behave and concentrate very well in this warm and inclusive school' and that, 'the school carefully considers staff workload and well-being.'
We are a large four form entry school to the west of Margate with approximately 730 pupils. We aim to provide a caring, exciting and inclusive learning environment where every child and family really matters with a focus on raising standards alongside the development of the whole child. The school's values are Perseverance, Aspiration, Respect and Teamwork and all children are familiar with these.
We are a school with a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for Physically Disabled pupils, a KS1 and KS2 satellite class from Foreland Fields School and a further SRP for pupils with Autism.
We are a part of an established Cooperative Trust (Thanet Endeavour Learning Trust), working with Bromstone Primary School, Parkside Community Foundation Primary School and St Mildred's Primary Infant School.
