Full Job Description

This role is temporary to cover maternity leave until the 31st August 2025.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled HR Service Desk Officer to join our HR Business Operations Team within our Human Resources Department.
We are a busy team responsible for the Councils HR Service Desk function, which includes Recruitment administration and advertising, the Disclosure & Barring process and first line for the HR Service.
It can be a very pressurised and demanding workload and the work is deadline focused. You will work as part of a team that will ensure that all enquiries coming into the HR Service are either answered first time or triaged to the appropriate HR team.
You will have a good telephone manner to enable you to deal with enquiries from managers, staff and the general public. The ability to be flexible and deal with tasks at short notice is key for the role as is the ability to use a wide range of IT packages such as Word, Excel and Social Media.
You will have the appropriate people skills to enable you to deal with a wide range of customers, be a good team player and be aware of your responsibilities in dealing with sensitive and confidential personal data.
