Full Job Description
To support the corporate and operations functions of the university, ensuring the university is able to comply with the law and other regulations governing its operation, through the development and maintenance an effective and compliant framework of policies and procedure, and other governance mechanisms.
To provide high quality consultancy service, advice and guidance to managers and individual members of staff in relation to all aspects of employment.
To lead on and support organisational development and culture change, in support of City St George's strategic direction and agreed values.
As part of the People Service Team, you will support the delivery of efficient, high quality, customer-focused HR services to managers and staff across Schools and Professional Services, in accordance with City St George's policies and procedures.
The Employee Administration Team Leader supports the delivery of high quality, customer-focused administrative support services across the University's Schools and Professional Services Directorates.
Reporting to the Head of People Service, you will be the primary point of contact and escalation for the team on any day-to-day issues, providing high quality, specialist and technical advice and guidance as required to manage a team of administrators in the delivery of high-quality administration services.
Good level of education to degree level (or equivalent) with examination passes demonstrating high level of literacy and numeracy.
Level 3 qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development/Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (or similar body) OR Level 3 Apprenticeship (in a relevant field) OR equivalent workplace experience.
A demonstrable and current knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including UKVI, DBS and data security, and the proven ability to apply this in practice.
Proven and significant experience of working in an HR environment using an integrated HR/Payroll/Recruitment database (knowledge and experience of using Oracle, SAP HR is desirable).
Demonstrable experience of a full range of HR / Payroll processes covering the complete employee life-cycle.
Demonstrable experience of working in a busy team environment and previous experience in customer-facing and problem-solving roles.
