Full Job Description

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust provides NHS hospital services for around 900,000 people across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and south Buckinghamshire.
As well as delivering excellent general hospital services to local people, we provide specialist heart attack, vascular, stroke, spinal, cystic fibrosis and plastic surgery services across a much wider area.
We have three main hospitals - Frimley Park in Frimley near Camberley, Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park near Slough.

We are also proud to host the Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical, and nursing personnel working alongside the hospital's NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialties., + To work in accordance with departmental procedures and work instructions.
+ To reprocess reusable Medical Devices in a controlled environment.
+ To receive and prepare contaminated equipment for decontamination through automated washers.
+ To disassemble and manually clean equipment as per manufacturer's instructions ready for washing.
+ To reassemble and package equipment as per customer requirements.
+ To load packaged equipment into the sterilisers, unload and despatch.
+ To safely operate decontamination equipment and undertake routine testing as required.
+ To clean workstations on a daily basis and dispose of clinical/household waste as required.
+ To report any defects or discrepancies found with the equipment to the Team Leaders.
+ To scan instrument trays onto the Floor Management System (computerised tracking system) to enable tracing.
+ To assist in maintaining adequate stock levels of all raw materials.
+ To assist during departmental audits.
+ To assist with investigation into con-conformances.
+ To undertake training appropriate to HSDU and to complete all mandatory training i.e. Fire, Health & Safety, Manual Handling.

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our busy team on a fixed term basis. The department is responsible for the cleaning, inspection, assembly, packing and sterilising of surgical equipment. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent team working and communication skills, the ability to work under their own initiative and commitment to the provision of a quality service. Flexibility is required as this role may require cross site working.

Based at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, our modern HSDU processes surgical equipment for our Operating Theatres, internal wards and departments plus external clients such as GP Surgeries.
1 x 37.5hrs per week 10:00-1800 and includes an alternate Saturday
Please note this is a Fixed Term position for 12 months to provide Maternity cover.
