Full Job Description

Position: HSE Advisor Location: Daventry Customer: Sainsburys Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day-time hours Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Closing date: 9th October, 2024 DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a HSE Advisor to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Support the site HSE Manager and wider HSE team.
  • Collaborating and getting buy-in from all levels when producing or amending all site H&S documentation, legislations and responsibilities.
  • Understand all operational processes in order to support the wider site team in adequately assessing risk and for the purposes of producing the relevant documentation.
  • Support the operational team in the event of any H&S incident to ensure that all correct processes and paperwork are produced and logged.
  • Ability to create H&S improvement plans and work to targets
  • Provide day to day Safety, Health and Environmental assistance and advice to enable the site to comply with relevant statutory legislation
  • Assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant HSE policies at the site
  • Meet annual Safety, Health and Environmental objectives.

  • Previous experience within a HSE role or having taken up HSE responsibilities is essential.
  • Familiarity of working within a warehouse environment would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Able to build relationships with internal/external work forces.
  • Exposure to HSE systems (such as Logics) would be desirable.
  • Ability to deliver training in an enthusiastic manner
  • Capable of addressing individuals who are not following H&S procedures.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or willing to work towards a qualification fully funded by DHL)
