Full Job Description

We're looking for a HSQE Advisor to join us on a permanent full-time basis. Working as part of a strong team of HSQE professionals, you will provide HSQE support & advice to Arcus colleagues across various operational divisions and Corporate functions. Contributing to a positive HSQE culture, the compliance of HSQE requirements and delivery of the Arcus HSQE Strategy. Reporting directly into the HSQE Lead Business Partner, you will provide support as outlined below for business divisions within your remit. Such divisions include (not limited to) Project Division, including CDM support, Support Services, Distribution Centres, Pest Team, Office statutory compliance and office safety. Cross departmental HSQE support, will also provide experience in all Arcus business areas. The role is hybrid working, with UK countrywide travel as required.,

  • Provide HSQE guidance and support for HSQE matters across the business, to support with risk reduction and risk management, to ensure compliance with internal and legislative requirements and processes, whilst striving for continual improvement and driving HSQE performance.
  • Support with the mobilisation of any new contracts or additional business divisions.
  • Undertake risk assessments and COSHH assessments, including the review of.
  • Lead and support with accident investigations, and provide support/guidance for accident investigations undertaken by Line Managers.
  • Provide support and guidance on internal and external HSQE audits.
  • Conduct audits & site inspections in line with corporate and HSQE process requirements, providing recommendations where concerns raised & manage actions through to completion.
  • Develop strong relationships throughout the business to support implementation, delivery and compliance of HSQE requirements.
  • Provide on-site support to operational teams in the form of site visits/engagement days/meetings.
  • Write or feed into HSQE business reports, including provision and analysis of company HSQE statistics.
  • Create & review Toolbox Talks and HSQE training, including delivery of HSQE training i.e. CDM Awareness, Permit to Work, Legionella Awareness, Risk Assessment, Fire Evacuation.
  • Support with contractor management throughout the business in the form of contractor on-boarding, contractor engagement, inductions, risk assessment reviews etc.

    IOSH Member (desirable).
  • NEBOSH Cert or equivalent (minimum).
  • Environmental qualification or experience desirable.
  • Fire Safety qualification desirable.
  • Knowledge / Experience
  • Experience of a working in a multi-client environment.
  • Facilities Maintenance experience desirable.
  • Depot/distribution centre experience and/or knowledge desirable.
  • Projects and CDM and/or knowledge desirable.
  • A good understanding of current HSQE Regulation for England, Wales, Scotland and N Ireland.
  • Excellent administration skills and use of Microsoft office, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of 45001, 14001 and 9001 are desirable.

  • Salary: £25,000-£35,000 depending on experience
  • Car allowance: £3,596 (Full UK license and own car is essential)
