Training, development, and support for you Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You'll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree. During the Human Factors Industrial Placement, you will be involved in tasks such as:

  • Supporting Human Factors work such as task analyses, design review, and procedure improvements
  • Shadowing walk-downs by Human Factors personnel on EDF Nuclear Power Stations
  • Supporting commissioning and safety case development for HPC
  • Producing reports detailing Human Factors assessment

    We are looking for candidates who are on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in relevant degrees such as Psychology, Human Factors/Ergonomics or a suitable Science or Engineering degree. You should possess strong technical and analytical skills, along with a genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities. A questioning attitude, good teamwork, and effective communication skills are also essential qualities we seek.
