Full Job Description

Overview of the role As an integral member of EPR-E, your inaugural assignment will encompass a pivotal contribution to my Client's project's design phase culmination. Within the piping sector, you will be entrusted with the meticulous design oversight of an expansive piping network, spanning over 100 kilometers, which forms the backbone of the project. As an mechanical engineer, you will: As a Mechanical Calculation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the integrity of HVAC and electrical supports and the anchor plates for various load scenarios, including dead weight, thermal expansion, and seismic activity. Your mission will also be to do the surveillance of supports drawings before manufacture. For this, you will closely work with the elec/HVAC calculation coordinator and the project team. At some point, it may be possible to evolve to piping calculation. Expertise in finite element analysis software is highly valued and considered an essential skill for this role. Additionally, knowledge of Python programming is advantageous for developing specialized tools

  • Outstanding communication abilities, both in writing and speaking.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical concepts, including modal and static analysis.
  • Proficiency in mechanical simulations, particularly using finite element methods.
  • Innovative problem-solving abilities to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technological advancements in the field. Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects is desirable
  • Experience of UK design context and regulatory processes Experience in RSTAB or BEAM STRESS and support calculation
  • Knowledge of RCC-M code (section C3650 at least)
  • Programming proficiency, especially in Python, for the development of computational tools.
  • Experience with CAD software for design and modeling.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance related to mechanical engineering
