Full Job Description

As a hybrid General Manager at Eastbourne Downs Golf Club, you will be accountable for Golf Sales & Operations plus, and very importantly, the overall management of the Get Golfing team and full P&L responsibility of the Site. Key areas of General Manager responsibility include:

  • Management and guardianship of the Member and Guest experience
  • Day to day management of the venue in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Leading and motivating the Senior Management Team to deliver outstanding success.
  • Ensure the venue and surrounds are presented within Set-To-Sell guidelines
  • Ownership and accountability for the Site P&L and achieving set budgets
  • Presentation of monthly trading position including variance analysis to CEO & CFO
  • Ensure the venue is compliant with all relevant legislation including H&S and licensing
  • Managing relationships and projects with third parties including suppliers & contractors
  • Key areas of Golf Manager responsibility include:
  • Oversee the daily operations of all golf facilities within the organisation
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the member and visitor experience.
  • Ownership of the golf sales efforts and on site marketing strategy and planning.
  • Manage the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of golf operations, starters and course marshalls.
  • Coordinate golf tournaments (particularly around day to day member liaison), events, and leagues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve overall facility operations.
  • Salary circa 30 - 35k plus opportunity to earn up to 40% of salary based on achieving a set of personal objectives and site based financial KPIs.
