Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a full-time Band 8b Medicines Access Lead Pharmacist to join the NW London ICB Medicines Optimisation Team. The post holder will work with the NW London Medicines Optimisation senior leadership team, supported by a wide range of healthcare professionals working through a distributed leadership model supported by the ICS Chief Pharmacist, ICB Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Trust Chief Pharmacists and colleagues. The post holder will work as part of a collaborative North West London medicines team across NW London Integrated Care System to lead and support delivery and implementation of medicines optimisation work plans for acute Trusts, working collaboratively within and contributing to creating a culture of collaboration and learning. This will include consideration of leadership at all levels and improving the staff experience. The post-holder will develop and embed inclusive pharmacy professional practice into everyday care for patients and members of the public,
to support the prevention of ill-health and address health inequalities within our diverse communities.

In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring people using our services are central to everything we do. We believe in co-production, working hand-in-hand with individuals with lived experience to shape our services., You will support the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and Head of Medicines Optimisation within the Governance and Access specialism in the day-to-day management of functions relating to evidence-based medicines access, high cost/PbR excluded drug budget management, monitoring and auditing of prescribing data to identify opportunities for safe and cost-effective prescribing with acute Trust partners and at the interface.

The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently whilst also integrating into a well-established team. They will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills together with a good working knowledge of primary and secondary care and the challenges facing medicines optimisation in the new NHS.
