Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment process, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has a large and complex ICT service that underpins the delivery of digital health care. ICT supports around 14,000 users and over 200 services across more than 120 sites. The adoption and expectations placed upon digital healthcare are expected to grow substantially over the next 5 years.
As part of the ICT Network Security Team role within DDaT (Digital, Data & Technology). You will be engaged in operational duties, ensuring the delivery of a reliable and secure environment to support infrastructure and clinical systems fulfilling the terms and conditions of the service level agreements.
This is an exciting and challenging role, and you will be working with the following technology disciplines - Enterprise routing/switching within a campus design, Wi-Fi Enterprise Wi-Fi based hardware/software, Cisco SD-A and Cisco ACI.
Main duties of the job
You will provide support for the ICT Network Systems Team Leader in relation to tasks such as daily operations, monitoring and system housekeeping. You will be required to analyse calls that are logged by end users and internal ICT teams to identify resolutions, or escalations., You will play a large part in maintaining the professional image of the Health Board ICT Services.
Interaction with customers and the Health Board ICT Services staff at all levels will be of the utmost importance; in particular an excellent working relationship between the post holder and the main customer contacts will be essential.
- Ensure their own knowledge of network and security systems is underpinned by both theoretical knowledge, acquired through appropriate training and research, such as specialist vendor training; and practical experience in networking support.
- Support the ICT Network Services Team Leader in the management and maintenance of networking and security systems, including testing, installation, commissioning and replacement.
- Monitor the network infrastructure on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all errors, breaches and alerts are identified and addressed.
- Identify and evaluate areas which will benefit from improvement.
- Be required to work daily with minimal supervision.
- You may be required at times to work outside of standard working hours. You could also be expected to join on an ongoing basis an out of hour's on-call escalation rota.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
