Full Job Description
We are currently seeking to employ a committed and motivated ICT Service Desk Manager, to manage and lead the ICT Service Desk team, including hiring, training, and coordinating day to day work schedules for a small team of primarily 1st / 2nd Line service desk engineers across all local and remote College Sites. The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the ICT Service Desk, ensuring timely and effective resolution of support requests across all College sites. The ideal candidate will also act as a 2nd / 3rd line escalation point to the ICT Service Desk Team for the resolution of more complex service desk tickets. While also escalating issues to the Head of IT as needed.
- Range of relevant IT specialist, practitioner skills/qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications;
- Experience of Windows Server Administration;
- Technical knowledge and practical experience in the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, development and management of IT Networks;
- Knowledge of Office 365;
- Technical knowledge and practical experience in installation and maintenance of hardware and software systems, preferably within an education environment;
- Knowledge of current learning technologies and IT developments;
- Strong interpersonal and verbal skills;
- Proven experience as an effective communicator;
- Excellent customer focus with the ability to build productive working relationships with staff at all levels;
- Hands on approach with the ability to work effectively as a team member;
- Excellent planning, organisation skills with the ability to manage and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines under pressure;
- Ability to work on own initiative and flexibly to meet the needs of the College which may include unsociable hours, (evenings/weekends);
- Willingness to undertake further professional development in line with College needs;
- Experience of working within an IT service desk environment;
