Full Job Description

You will make a difference as an ICT Service Technician by aiding outcomes in education for students and supporting teachers in the effective use of IT.

What will you be doing?

  • You will establish and enforce compliance with both the departmental and Council policies, regulations and codes of practice.

  • You shall develop solutions to given problems and situations within a specific field and where appropriate ensure their implementation.

  • Daily, you'll provide advice to customers about compliance, legislation, regulation, policies and technical issues. You will ensure that effective customer relationships are established and maintained, advice provided is understood, and any risks and benefits are identified.

  • You will identify and review data and conduct analysis when required to assess problems.

  • You shall contribute to effective team working ensuring that records are current and accurate and team members up to date with any issues or developments.

    We require you to hold a current IT qualification or have the equivalent demonstrable experience of desktop applications and Windows operating systems - NVQ3 or equivalent in the IT field or A+, N+, MCP Desktop Qualifications.

  • You shall have demonstrable problem-solving skills in standard IT problems.

  • You will have experience of logging calls on an industry standard service desk and Microsoft.


  • Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post
    You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so must have a full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have alternative appropriate means of travel.
