Full Job Description

To produce digital images (either by scanning or photography) of money and medals objects, to process images, match them to MI+ collections management database records, and upload them to the Museum's image asset management system. Key areas of responsibility:

  • To produce record standard digital images, using scanners or static photography set-up of the money and medals collection of c.800,000 objects
  • To process images including, where appropriate, standardising backgrounds, pairing obverse and reverse files using established automated batch processes.
  • To ensure images are labelled with their MI+ PRN to enable bulk upload to the asset database
  • To identify any issues with the MI+ records of the imaged objects and to work with curators and other staff to correct problems

    A levels (or equivalent)
  • Experience of and expertise in collections management databases and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Confident user of digital cameras and scanners.
  • Ability to instruct others in photographic processes.
