Full Job Description

  • Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
  • Undertake, record and interpret patient observations, escalating any changes in the patient's condition, ensuring action is taken.
  • To provide reassurance and support to patients receiving vaccinations, ensuring they are well informed.
  • Work within the Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with N.M.C. Guidance.
  • Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • Check that adequate resources are available to meet the needs of the patients.
  • Resolve concerns and complaints from patients, visitors or colleagues where possible and report them to the Lead Nurse.
  • Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical, social and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
  • Use computerised systems to support the provision of patient care and treatment.
  • The vaccination centre at GEH provides Occupational Health, Maternity and Seasonal vaccinations for our staff and the local population. Part of our service is outreach projects. This Band 5 role is funded by inequalities in Health, to provide health checks for veterans of the armed forces who have been identified as a vulnerable group.Any previous or current connection with the armed forces either through yourself or family would be advantageous.
