Our Immunology team is expanding and we are looking for a new friendly and enthusiastic colleague to join our expert nursing team as a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus on Antibody Deficiencies.
We are a big, welcoming team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Research Nurses and Advance Clinical Practitioners who are passionate about our work - together we provide world leading Immunology care to children and families at a centre of excellence.
We work in close partnership with the medical- and multi-professional teams to treat and support children undergoing complex and innovative treatments like bone marrow transplantations, gene therapy and thymus transplants as well as providing basic immunological management and follow up. We also collaborate with external care providers across the UK and abroad., This post mainly provides nursing support for a cohort of patients with primary immunodeficiency. The caseload is predominantly children receiving immunoglobulin replacement at home or in their local hospitals, but also includes general immunology and other novel treatments including patients with immunodeficiency requiring Haematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPC) Transplant, Gene Therapy or Thymus Transplant. As a band 7 CNS you will be working autonomously to provide and develop the care for children with primary and secondary antibody deficiencies. The job also involves management of our Immunoglobulin home therapy service and infusion training. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated nurse with a passion for education to develop and progress them self and our service.
