Full Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, engaging and organised Impact Facilitator to work with leading scientists across the School of Clinical Medicine, helping them to understand, value and deliver research impacts beyond academia.

Working in the Clinical School Regius Office as part of the Research Initiatives Team and engaging closely with the University's dynamic Impact and Knowledge Exchange Team, you will play a key role in identifying, articulating, and supporting opportunities for impact in areas including entrepreneurship, technology transfer, commercialisation, policy impacts and third sector engagement.

The role holder should bring experience and understanding in the mechanisms of delivering research impact and will work as part of a supportive team to develop a strong impact culture across the School of Clinical Medicine. The role holder will be comfortable with clinical sciences research and need to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with academic, research and professional services colleagues across the University and beyond.

The School of Clinical Medicine research interests span across cancer research; cardio respiratory medicine; cellular mechanisms of disease; diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism epidemiology, public health and primary care genetics and genetic medicine haematological and transplantation medicine; infection and immunity; neurosciences and mental health; and stem cells and regenerative medicine. You will work across the Clinical School's departments and institutes to understand their research needs and identify new opportunities for innovative impacts beyond academia.

The post holder will map the Clinical School impact landscape and help implement a school wide impact strategy including developing impact projects with academic staff, facilitating academic impact planning for large impact and knowledge exchange funding applications and supporting strategic partnership building with external organisations.
